# Welcome to Ultra Categories & Breadcrumbs

Ultra Categories & Breadcrumbs turns Shopify’s flat collection list into a single hierarchical category tree, unlocking three main blocks for your storefront:&#x20;

### Help customers explore your store effortlessly – and convert better

Well-structured breadcrumbs help customers understand where they are on your site, jump to higher-level categories in a single click and form a clearer mental model of your catalog – all of which are linked to smoother journeys, lower friction, and higher confidence when browsing.&#x20;

Subcollections, meanwhile, act as “navigation scent”: they surface more specific options under each category, so shoppers can quickly scan, compare, and dive into the most relevant product groups without getting lost ([Baymard](https://baymard.com/blog/sub-sub-categories)).&#x20;
